Petula Clark’s 1964 hit song Downtown had the wrong idea. Sure, “When you’re alone and life is
making you lonely, you can always go, downtown.” But if you prefer peace and quiet for company (instead of traffic and noise), you can always go, to the library.
At 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, for example, joining kindred souls for a FREE author appearance.

Ahoy, all ye book lovers! Your friendly local scribe is about to expound publicly, once again, on his book MURDER IN PALM BEACH: The Homicide That Never Died – and YOU are cordially invited to attend this event. I’m going to be there for sure – because I am said scribe. Hi! Bob Brink here.
The setting is the charming North Palm Beach Public Library, tucked in a green nook on the town’s southeast corner. I can’t wait to see you, and will do my best to pique your interest – nay, to render you spellbound.
That shouldn’t be too difficult. The novel is based on a sensational event that happened in plush Palm Beach in January 1976, and made news for 15 years afterward. It even drew Geraldo Rivera here in 1982 to investigate and deliver a report on the ABC program 20/20.
Rife with political intrigue and suspense, the novel also depicts a moving love story, and takes readers down a path toward the redemption of a man.
So if you want some FREE entertainment, head on down to the library at 303 Anchorage Drive in North Palm Beach. That’s off U.S. Highway One, west side, a little north of Northlake Boulevard. The phone number is 561-841-3383. Again: 2 p.m. Thursday.
See y’all then.
